Yes, a single cabin kit can be shipped internationally, but the freight cost per cabin is usually higher than in a multi-unit order.
The main reason is simple: international cabin-kit shipping is driven by container use, route, handling and inland delivery rather than by the cabin's retail price alone. A compact model may still require most or all of a shipping container once the longest structural components, protection and unloading sequence are considered.
This does not mean that a single-unit project is automatically uneconomical. It means the buyer should compare the right variables before deciding.
Why Can Shipping One Cabin Be Expensive?
International freight contains several costs that do not fall in direct proportion to cabin size:

Does a Smaller Cabin Always Cost Less to Ship?
No. A finished cabin's floor area does not show how its parts pack.

A smaller support cabin, boxed cabin or second model may use remaining space, but the combination must satisfy:

- Weight distribution
- Glass protection
- Loading sequence
- Unloading sequence
- Customs and ownership requirements
Visible spare volume does not automatically mean that another cabin can be added safely.

Can Two Unrelated Buyers Share One Container?
For a standard full-container shipment arranged by SolidCabin, we do not normally divide one container between two unrelated buyers.
The order and shipment must be handled under one contracting buyer, one importer of record and one commercial invoice issued to that buyer. The same party is also responsible for the freight arrangement, customs clearance, destination charges, delivery, unloading and any cargo claim.
If two buyers privately decide to share the cost of the order, redistribute the goods or settle the value between themselves after import, that becomes their own domestic accounting, tax and legal arrangement. SolidCabin cannot divide the export invoice or manage the internal financial relationship between the parties.
This is different from courier, LCL or professionally consolidated cargo services, where the carrier or freight forwarder operates an established consolidation and deconsolidation process.
For this reason, unrelated buyers should generally place separate orders and use separate shipments unless a licensed customs broker and freight forwarder have approved a different structure in advance.
What Is the Difference Between EXW and Door Delivery?

Under an EXW or factory-collection quotation, the written offer should identify the agreed handover and loading responsibilities. The buyer or appointed forwarder then manages the onward international logistics from that point.
Door-Delivery Estimate
For U.S. projects, SolidCabin may obtain or coordinate a door-delivery estimate to the project ZIP code. The quotation should identify the included freight and destination stages and which local costs remain outside it.
Unloading equipment, site access, foundation placement and local assembly are normally separate unless expressly stated.
For countries outside the United States, destination taxes, VAT, customs practice and local port conditions should be confirmed with the buyer's local broker.
How Do Factory Options Affect Single-Unit Shipping?
Options can improve the completeness of the kit but also use container space.
- Factory glass package, supplied as tinted dual-pane tempered glass unless another specification is agreed
- Prefabricated timber floor system
- Hardwood flooring
- Kitchen cabinets
- Assembly hardware
- Additional factory-prepared insulation-related components when separately agreed
A buyer should not assume that every option fits without affecting loading. Optional glass, floor, kitchen and other bulky packages are included only when the confirmed loading plan leaves sufficient capacity. The current written quotation and final loading plan control.

Yes. For a single-cabin shipment, freight planning may include reviewing which optional components should be loaded with the cabin and which can be sourced locally.
Depending on the model and final package, this discussion may include items such as:

- Hardwood flooring
- Kitchen cabinetry
- Optional glazing packages
- Other model-specific add-ons that use significant container volume
The standard cabin structure should not be reduced simply to create shipping space. The practical goal is to compare the value of factory-prepared optional components with their effect on container utilization, local availability and installation requirements.
Foundations, concrete, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC equipment, appliances and most site-finished materials are normally part of the local project scope rather than freight-saving exclusions.

A multi-unit order may improve freight efficiency when the project already plans future phases, several units use the same model, the site can receive and store all kits safely, and permit and contractor planning are coordinated.
Buying additional cabins only to reduce freight is not automatically wise. Extra units create additional capital, storage, permit and construction obligations.
