About SolidCabin and the Kit System

SolidCabin manufactures factory-prepared timber cabin kits, including A-frame and non-A-frame models. The kits are produced in Turkey and shipped as coordinated building packages for assembly and completion by the buyer's local project team.

No. The cabins are not normally shipped as completed volumetric modules. Structural timber, wall and roof components, joinery, finishes and other model-specific parts are prepared for container shipment and assembled at the destination.

Generally, no. SolidCabin supplies the cabin kit, manufacturer drawings and production-side technical support. Site preparation, foundations, permits, local engineering, utilities, assembly labor and final completion are normally arranged locally.

Typical buyers include private owners, builders, developers, glamping operators, short-term-rental projects and tourism facilities. The buyer must still have a realistic local plan for permitting, foundations, labor, utilities and site completion.

Kit Scope and Available Options

The standard package is a coordinated structural and architectural cabin package. Depending on the model and quotation, it generally includes the primary timber structure, wall and roof components, exterior and interior timber elements, partitions, stairs or loft components, joinery, model-specific structural connectors and manufacturer documentation. The written quotation and current scope document control the exact order.

No. SolidCabin packages generally continue beyond a frame-only kit and can include exterior cladding, interior timber surfaces, roofing components, doors and window joinery, stairs, loft elements, decks and other model-specific parts. It is still not a locally completed turnkey building.

Insulated aluminum window and door joinery is available as part of the model-specific package. The exact number, opening type, finish and specification depend on the selected model and quotation.

Glass is normally listed separately from the aluminum joinery. Available project options may include dual-pane tempered glass, tinted glass and Low-E configurations. The required package should be selected after reviewing the destination climate, code and energy requirements.

Insulation material is normally sourced and installed locally unless a project-specific insulation package is included in the quotation. SolidCabin can prepare the relevant wall, roof and floor cavities for the agreed insulation depth. Final R-values and energy compliance must be confirmed for the project location.

The site foundation is not included in the standard kit. SolidCabin may offer a prefabricated timber floor or crawl-floor system for some models, but that floor still requires locally designed footings, piers, piles, slab edges or other supports beneath it.

Kitchen cabinets and selected components may be offered as project options. Appliances, countertops, sanitary fixtures, waterproofing, wet-area finishes and final plumbing connections are normally sourced or completed locally unless specifically included in the quotation.

Model-specific structural steel plates and custom connectors form part of the relevant structural package. General screws, bolts and assembly consumables may be offered as a separate hardware package. Sealants, temporary bracing, tools, lifting equipment and normal site consumables remain local.

Permits, Drawings and U.S. Engineering

No. A standard model is not automatically approved for every state, county, city or property. The final permit depends on the project address, locally adopted codes, intended use, foundation, wind, snow, seismic, energy, soil and other site-specific requirements.

Yes. Buyers may appoint their own qualified professional who is licensed for the project jurisdiction. SolidCabin can provide the available manufacturer drawings and coordinate kit-related technical questions with that professional.

Yes. Alternatively, SolidCabin can request a project-specific proposal from an independent U.S. engineering firm that has already reviewed SolidCabin drawings and project packages, subject to state licensing, availability and the required scope.

The firm can begin with an established manufacturer package and direct access to the SolidCabin technical team. Less time may be spent reconstructing the cabin system from marketing drawings or explaining production details from the beginning.

The independent engineering firm provides its project-specific proposal, professional-services agreement and invoice directly to the customer. The licensed provider remains responsible for calculations, professional seals, foundation design and documents issued under its seal.

Available information may include floor plans, elevations, sections, principal dimensions, timber layouts, wall and roof sections, connection details, production drawings, component identification, assembly information, material references and editable files where applicable. The exact package depends on the model and agreed scope.

Yes. Major site criteria, structural revisions, insulation depths, glazing, foundation connections and service penetrations should be substantially resolved before production is released. Starting manufacturing too early transfers the risk of later changes to the buyer and project team.

Pricing, Quotations and Ordering

Current starting prices are published on the SolidCabin price list and model pages. Starting prices do not include every option, engineering service, freight, import charge, foundation, local labor or site-completion cost.

Send the preferred model, project address or ZIP code, intended use, number of units, required options, preferred foundation, known code or climate requirements and target schedule. A project address is especially important for shipping and engineering planning.

Many layout, opening, insulation, cladding and structural changes can be reviewed before production. Extensive changes may affect engineering, price, lead time, container capacity and the usability of standard drawings. Starting from the closest existing model is usually more efficient than redesigning a smaller model completely.

The payment schedule is stated in the formal quotation and order agreement. Export orders normally use staged payments rather than an online retail checkout. Buyers should rely on the signed order documents for the exact milestones and banking instructions.

The quotation states the current production schedule. Standard projects are commonly planned around eight to ten weeks after design approval and the required order payment, while peak demand, custom work, engineering revisions or larger orders can extend the schedule.

No. Core models may be available as single-unit orders, while some limited-production models require consolidated or multi-unit demand. Confirm the current production status and minimum order quantity for the selected model.

Shipping, Customs and Delivery

Yes. SolidCabin can request or coordinate a project-specific ocean and inland delivery estimate. Buyers may also appoint their own freight forwarder. Freight remains separate from the cabin kit price unless the quotation expressly combines them.

Container capacity depends on the model, options, packaging and any project-specific changes. Some compact models can share a 40-foot high-cube container, while larger models require one container per cabin. Capacity must be confirmed before the order is finalized.

SolidCabin supplies the export and shipment documents available under the agreed delivery scope. A customs broker, importer or freight provider handles destination-country entry and clearance. SolidCabin can coordinate with the selected provider but does not replace the importer or licensed customs professional.

Not unless expressly shown in the quotation. Import duty, processing fees, broker charges, bonds, port costs, sales or use tax and other destination charges vary by country and project. Buyers should confirm the current rules with the relevant broker and local advisers.

The buyer or local contractor normally arranges the crane, forklift or other equipment required to unload the container and move the packaged components to a safe staging area. Site access and equipment capacity should be reviewed before delivery.

When the shipment uses a shipper-owned container sold with the cargo, the container may remain with the buyer and can potentially be reused or resold. This is shipment-specific and must be confirmed in the freight quotation.

Foundation, Assembly and Local Completion

Possible systems include slabs, footings and stem walls, piers, crawl spaces, basements, helical piles and other engineered supports. The correct system depends on soil, frost, slope, groundwater, uplift, seismic and local code conditions.

No. It forms the cabin's structural floor and can reduce local framing work, but it still requires locally engineered supports and anchoring beneath it.

The cabin is normally assembled by the buyer's local contractor or construction team. The team should be capable of timber framing, roofing, joinery installation, moisture control, safe lifting and following detailed drawings.

There is no universal three-person rule. Crew size depends on the model, site access, lifting equipment, construction sequence and local experience. A small compact cabin and a large multi-level cabin should not be planned with the same labor assumptions.

Structural shell and weather-enclosure assembly can be relatively fast when the foundation, crew and equipment are ready, but the duration varies substantially by model and site. It should not be confused with the time required for permits, foundations, utilities, interiors and final occupancy approval.

SolidCabin provides assembly drawings and remote technical support for kit-related questions. For some projects, initial on-site guidance by a SolidCabin representative may be quoted separately; travel, accommodation and local labor remain project-specific.

Typical local scope includes site preparation, foundations, engineering and permits, unloading, labor, insulation installation, air sealing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, utility connections, waterproofing, wet-area completion, paint or stain, appliances and final inspections.

These systems are normally designed, supplied and installed locally because codes, equipment certifications, trades and service conditions vary by jurisdiction. SolidCabin can coordinate factory-prepared service cavities and routes when the required information is available before production.

Climate, Materials, Maintenance and Warranty

Yes, subject to engineering review and practical production limits. Revisions may include different member sizes, closer spacing, stronger panels, additional fasteners, bracing, hold-downs, anchors, glazing changes or revised foundation connections.

Often, yes. The available depth depends on the model and structural system. Larger cavities can affect interior dimensions, timber sizes, detailing, price and container loading, so they should be confirmed before manufacturing drawings are finalized.

Low-E glazing can be quoted where required. The final U-factor, solar heat-gain coefficient, tempered-glass requirements and frame performance should be checked against the destination climate and energy calculation.

Service life depends on design, drainage, moisture control, roof and flashing maintenance, coatings, termite risk, climate and workmanship. A blanket promise that every cabin will last more than a lifetime is not credible. Correct detailing and routine maintenance are essential.

Inspect coatings, joints, sealants, roof drainage, exposed end grain and areas close to grade regularly. Recoat or repair according to the selected finish system and local exposure. Preventing persistent moisture is more important than relying on a fixed maintenance interval.

The current SolidCabin limited warranty and claims procedure applies together with the signed quotation and order documents. Warranty coverage does not replace the responsibilities of local installers, engineers, contractors, freight providers or product manufacturers for work and products outside the supplied kit scope.
